Our Story

My story is just a love story between Him and me.

How He is always on my mind, and how I love everything about Him.

His Words are sweet like honey,

and mighty like a sharp sword.

I long for constant fellowship,

because it feels as if it is just You and me against the world.

I say that because everything seems to try to keep us

from spending time together.

And that makes me want to give up—to hide.

Just You and me.

Where my spirit can rejoice in You.

Where the pressure and the noise aren’t toxic.

To hide from the world.

Just You and me together.

But it is not so.

You did not come to the earth to condemn it,

but so that all could receive life—

and receive it more abundantly.

You’ve even told me

that the light You’ve given me

should not be hidden.

So where does that leave us, my Lord?

Where does my heart retreat?

Where do we get to be together?

Selah.

If my story was the cross,

then I would be crucified,

and the Holy Ghost would bring me back to life.

And if I did that daily,

then my story would become our story—and

one of the greatest love stories ever told.

And may the grace of Jesus be with me

and with the readers this day

and into eternity.

I pray the Holy Ghost will keep us

until the roll is called up yonder.

Amen.

And to You, my Love—

thank You.
