Comfort is Not the Goal

Surface-level Christianity isn’t always immaturity — sometimes it’s comfort.

It’s possible to love God…

attend church…

feel moved during worship…

and still resist going deeper.

Because the presence of God humbles you.

It confronts you.

It requires submission.

It exposes what you thought was right.

And that’s what scares people.

Not the idea of God —

but the surrender of control.

I’m not coming against baby Christians. Growth happens in seasons. But what happens when we get comfortable in a season God intended to be temporary?

In education, there are below-level, on-level, and above-level students. Good teachers differentiate. They use scaffold. They stretch. They enrich.

Shouldn’t discipleship do the same?

We were not saved to remain stagnant.

I don’t want routine.

I want presence.

Not hype.

Not emotion.

Presence.

It doesn’t stop at Calvary.

We move toward Pentecost.

Selah.
